About Urban Gleaners:
Urban Gleaners is a local non-profit organization that collects delicious and fresh food before it goes to waste and gets it to people who need it. Pure and simple. They pick up food from their growing roster of donor restaurants, grocery stores, corporate campuses, event sites, colleges and universities, farms, and food wholesalers and deliver that food to their Free Food Markets located at schools, community centers, low-income housing communities, and parks where families can shop in an equitable and dignified way, no questions asked. Every week, Urban Gleaners receives approximately 25,000 pounds of food that’s redistributed to over 8,000 individuals. Urban Gleaners believes it's possible to make meaningful impacts on climate and hunger through small daily actions with community as the focus.
